James Hall, III, Ph.D.
Medical Errors for Audiologists to Avoid

Saturday, August 27
8:30 AM – 9:30 AM

This presentation, developed specifically for audiologists, begins with a definition and overview of the problem of medical errors. Next, examples of medical errors in audiology are identified. Then, standard of care is defined, and clinical guidelines for best practices are reviewed. The presentation concludes with case reports illustrating real examples of medical errors in audiology, and how they could have been prevented. The presentation stresses the importance of prevention of medical errors to patient safety and quality of health care. Audience participation will be strongly encouraged.
